Resolution fail this week! Conferences, an overnight retreat, and grading have left me swamped. However, if at first you don’t succeed, beat that dead horse-of-a-goal until it’s … um, well-beaten? Back with a vengeance this week, my friends. I’ll be letting some cool cats out of some bags in the next few days!

Silver and Gold: GKG’s 2012 in Review and Blogging Resolutions for 2013

Friends, Romans, Countrywomen and Countrymen … it’s a brand new year! (Cue Ella Fitzgerald.) A time for celebrating, anticipating, and congregating around bottles of bubbly and all y’all’s loved ones. I thought I’d put together a little post announcing some new adventures at GKG, as well as reflecting on my past few months of blogging.

First, THANK YOU! You guys — my family, friends, fellow bloggers, and readers — have made this little blog what it is today. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to look back on the past 6 or 7 months and see how my blog has grown. I can’t wait for another year of blogging, cooking, eating, and sharing it all with you. Hurrah!

Secondly, I’m excited to announce a brand new venture for 2013: GKG’s Monthly Resolutions!

Normally, when you think of resolutions for a new year, you might think of any of the following:

  1. Lose weight / exercise daily / become a less-intense-but-just-as-bada** version of Jillian Michaels
  2. Travel the world on a shoestring budget. Work schmerk.
  3. Sleep more. Catching zz’s is what all the cool kids are doing.
  4. Become zen and resolve all personal drama and tension.

Realistic? Um … Easily broken? Oh, always. 🙂 While I have some resolutions for myself (mostly involving work, and running regularly … pretty standard stuff!), I’ve decided to create a different blogging resolution for each month of the year. Wish me luck! Check ’em out below:

And so, here’s to January’s goal! I’ll be posting 5 days a week — some weekdays, some weekends, but with lots of goodies in store! As for the “30 Dishes by 30,” stay tuned … I’m brainstorming a list of 30 dishes I’d like to accomplish cooking — successfully, flavor-fully, and deliciously — in the next 4-ish years. All suggestions welcome!
